Celebrate Local Military Heroes on The BLVD By Sponsoring The Summer Banner Program

Help celebrate local military heroes by sponsoring the banners that will be prominently featured along The BLVD this summer to show our thanks for their tireless efforts in support of our country.

The banners will feature pictures of Antelope Valley residents who have served or are currently serving in either the Afghanistan or Iraq wars. In the future, The BLVD banner program plans to recognize veterans who served in a combat theater during other wars as well. For rules regarding the selection process please visit the website, www.cityoflancasterca.org.

The City of Lancaster launched The BLVD Community Program in November 2010, offering both residents and business owners the opportunity to make a piece of the revitalized BLVD their very own. Through The BLVD Community Program, members of the community have the opportunity to sponsor and advertise on the banners posted throughout the core of downtown Lancaster. Themed banners have been offered for two seasons so far, and new sponsors are being accepted on an ongoing basis.

The local heroes banner program presents a unique marketing opportunity for local businesses wishing to sponsor a banner. Sponsors are recognized along the lower portion of the banners, which are prominently placed along The BLVD, from 10th St. W. to Sierra Highway. For $300, local merchants can advertise their business, as well as help honor local military and beautify The BLVD.

This seasonal sponsorship includes three months beginning in the end of July through the end of September. A payment plan is being offered to make the program accessible to more businesses. In addition, for purchases of four or more banners, a discount of $200 off of the total amount is being offered.

Applications are due by Friday, July 15. For more information on how to sponsor a banner, please contact Nicole Nutt at (661) 723-6173 or by email at nnutt@cityoflancasterca.org. Applications can be picked up at City Hall, Parks Recreation & Arts Department or downloaded online at www.cityoflancasterca.org.
