23rd Annual Thunder on the Lot Rolls Into SGT. Steven Owen Memorial Park This Weekend

​Lancaster, CA. June 7, 2017 – Join Kid’s Charities and the City of Lancaster for the 23rd Annual Thunder on the Lot. This year’s event will be held Friday through Sunday, June 9 through 11. The event kicks off Friday night with the Thunder Cruise-In from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., along Lancaster BLVD. The main event will take place at Sgt. Steve Owen Memorial Park (formerly Lancaster City Park) Saturday and Sunday, June 10 and 11.

Thunder on the Lot was founded in June of 1995 by local businessman, Ron Emard. Benefiting more than 20 local children’s charities (see website – www.thunderonthelot.com), the event raises an average of $200,000 annually, and has raised more than $4.8 million dollars to date.  

Thunder on the Lot will feature motorcycle, RV, classic/custom, low rider, and import car shows; an early morning poker run; beer gardens; continuous live music on two stages; motorcycle stunt shows; a custom car burnout contest; a carnival; raffle giveaways (including a brand new Harley-Davidson motorcycle); community stage performances; various food booths; more than 100 vendors, and much more. Attracting more than 15,000 visitors over a two-day period, Thunder on the Lot provides an excellent venue for vendors and sponsors to market their businesses, while having a great time doing so.

Raffle tickets may be purchased anytime at Antelope Valley Harley-Davidson 
(1759 West Avenue J-8) or Kid’s Charities (742 West Avenue L). All proceeds go directly to the children’s organizations supported by this event. 

Live Music

This year’s entertainment lineup features a number of exciting shows. Saturday’s headliners include: Gods of Thunder (KISS Tribute Band); Smooth SoS (Santana Tribute); Fast Hammer; MLC; Attack of the Rising; Bullfrog Blues Band; Jazz Moves; The Fulcos; The Sting Rays; and Mama’s Hot Sauce.

Sunday’s headline performers include: Led Zepagain (Led Zeppelin Tribute); Wanted (Bon Jovi Tribute); Tiffanee Jenee; Big Coyote; L’Insanity; Dinami; Runaway Train, and more. 

Kids’ Arena

The Kids’ Arena will be a major attraction for younger guests. In addition to the returning carnival, children will enjoy: a dunk tank; bounce houses; huge inflatables; face painting; community stage performances; water balls; euro bungee; orbitron, and more. Stunt Show Arena

For thrill-seeking attendees, the excitement and buzz is all about the Ball O’ Death motorcycle stunt show performed by Hollywood stuntman, Monte Perlin.  Showtimes are 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. on Sunday. StuntFarm motorcycle artists will also be performing daring maneuvers and tricks on Saturday at 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m.; and Sunday at noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. Don’t miss these exhilarating shows.

Thunder on the Lot Bike Show

The Thunder on the Lot Bike Show will be held on Sunday, and is open to all types and styles of motorcycles, with the option to compete in a number of classes. This is a juried show with an entrance fee of $25. Trophies will be awarded in various categories at 4 p.m. on Sunday in the Bike Show Arena.

Thunder on the Lot Car Show

The Thunder on the Lot Car Show will be held on Saturday and Sunday — and will feature hundreds of the best custom and classic cars from the Antelope Valley, and throughout California. The registration fee for the car show is $30 for both days. Winners will be announced from the Car Show Stage at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission

Gates open at 2 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday. General admission on Saturday is $10 per person, children ages 10 and under free. Tickets are available for purchase beginning at 1 p.m. on June 10. Sunday’s admission is free.  

Parking

Parking is offered at no cost across the street from Sgt. Steve Owen Memorial Park with trams providing rides to the entrance. Preferred parking near the event entrance is available for $10. Handicapped parking is located to the south (left) of the main entrance; please note that there will be no wheelchairs for rent onsite. 

Additional guidelines

Attendees should plan to use cash and credit cards only; ATM’s will be available onsite. Checks will not be accepted. Outside food, drinks, and alcoholic beverages are prohibited, and coolers may not be brought onto event grounds. Pets are not allowed. Carts, bicycles, and skateboards are prohibited.
