Antelope Valley Fair Food Competition Winners Announced
LANCASTER, CA – ANTELOPE VALLEY FAIR OFFICIALS TODAY ANNOUNCED THE WINNERS OF THE 3RD ANNUAL ANTELOPE VALLEY FAIR 2017 ALFIE’S PEOPLE’S CHOICE FAIR FOOD COMPETITION AND A.V. FAIR 2017 FOOD COMPETITION (JUDGED).
Fair attendees were encouraged to vote on the first three days of the Fair in the following Alfie’s People’s Choice Fair Food categories: Favorite food, Dessert and Non-alcoholic beverage. All votes were entered in a drawing for a chance to win a Family 4-pack of Fair Admission tickets. People’s Choice winners: Favorite Fair Food: Round Table Pizza, Dessert: Kettle Korn and Non-alcoholic Beveragewinner: Texas Twister.
Each panel of judges was provided with 2-bite samples presented in the same fashion as they are served to the public, and one full serving of each item was displayed for presentation purposes. Judging criteria included: Appearance, Flavor and Texture/Consistency. The six categories of food that were judged were: Tastiest Fair Food, Tastiest Fair Dessert, Most Creative & Tasty New Item (non-dessert), Best Fried Food (non-dessert), Tastiest Item on a Stick, and Most Refreshing Drink (non-alcoholic).
Winners per category: Grand Prize Winner: Hot CHEETOS® Chicken On A Stick (Bishop Concessions); Tastiest Fair Food: Cowboy Philly (Stuffies); Tastiest Fair Dessert: Cinnamon Rolls (Old West Cinnamon Rolls); Most Creative and New Food (non-dessert): Hot CHEETOS® Chicken On A Stick; Best Fried Food (non-dessert): Dragon Wings (Egg Roll On A Chopstick); Tastiest Item on a Stick: Candy Apple (Rainbow Concessions), and Most Refreshing Drink: Texas Twister Drink (Texas Twister).
Entries per category entered in competition: Tastiest Fair Food: Cotton Candy
(Rainbow Concessions). Tastiest Fair Dessert: Sliced Caramel Apple (Rainbow Concessions) and Kettle Korn (Couple of Nuts). Fried Food: Bacon and Cheddar Ribbon Fries (Bishop Concessions) and Kart Wheel (Blue and White Concessions). Food On A Stick: Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos (Bishop Concessions). Refreshing non-alcoholic Drink: Watermelon Lemonade (Egg Roll On A Chopstick).

Florist/AVnice.com, and Anna Zarley: Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.
