Exotic Feline Breeding Compound

More than 70 of the world’s most endangered felines call this conservation center home—and unlike a zoo, you can get a pretty close-up look at the animals, just a few feet away in some cases. You can expect tigers, jaguars, leopard sand cougars— as well as some lesser-known felines, such as servals. Check their website for Kids Day, which boasts scavenger hunts, live animal presentations and train rides.

Living up to its nickname, “The Cat House”, the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound commits itself to housing over 70 of the world’s most endangered felines. Founded in Rosamond, California in 1977, this non-profit organization runs entirely on public donations. Children and cat lovers of all ages are fascinated by our cats (and the peacocks). We are open to the public 10 am-4 pm (closed Wednesdays, Christmas day, Thanksgiving day, and the day of Feline Follies). There is an admission charge of $10 general, $8 seniors and active duty military, $5 age 3-12.
