AV Rock Out
On Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 4:15 pm the Lancaster Museum of Art and History will be hosting a second AV Rock Out event at the Prime Desert Woodland Preserve Pavilion.
This community event is an opportunity to share your favorite painted rock either from your collection or one that you painted.
To participate please register through Eventbrite, sign up for a time to drop-off your rock or create your entry on site at one of our rock decorating stations. Appointments will be in 45 minute increments.
On May 22nd, bring your rock to the Prime Desert Woodland Preserve, MOAH staff will be waiting for you in the pavilion where there will be two sign-in tables. Please remember to wear a mask and practice social-distancing during your appointment. There will be a max. capacity of 50 people in the pavilion at a time, including staff. Please check in with staff and they will give you a number. After checking in you will be directed to one of two photo booths where staff will photograph your rock with its number.
Each photographed rock will be added to an online exhibition and will be a candidate for an AV Rock Star award. Categories will be Adult and Children (12 years and younger). Themes that the judges are looking for are flora and fauna (as relates to the Preserve), most creative and most unique. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top winners including the Peoples’ Choice Award for an outstanding Adult entry and Child entry.
Winners will be announced at a later date.
