Free Young Artist Workshop: “Home” Quilt Squares

Express what “home” means to you by creating a fabric-based artwork inspired by Shelley Heffler’s “We Are Home” community quilt project. Finished quilt squares will be photographed and displayed in a virtual exhibition on MOAH’s website!

About Shelley Heffler’s Community Quilt Project:
Shelley Heffler organized the “We Are Home” community quilt project as a way to keep Los Angeles artists connected despite COVID-19 closures, restrictions, and quarantines. Each quilt square was created by a different artist and shows a unique expression of what “home” means to them. When the individual squares are displayed together as a large quilt, the viewer gets a sense of the LA community banding together to create art, even though they cannot be physically together in the same room. After the quilt is done being displayed, each square will be sold and the proceeds will support organizations fighting homelessness.
